artistic endeavors
Today, after work, I took the kids to the park so that we could enjoy the cool weather and have a cookout. When we first arrived, almost no one was there. But eventually, the softball, baseball, and football teams arrived and started their games.
As we walked past the games, I asked Buzz, “Would you be interested in playing baseball or soccer or football?”
“No, I want to be an artist.”
I have to say he and Dora have really been drawing a lot lately. Buzz has been diagramming almost as much as drawing. For example, at my mom’s this weekend, he drew what looked like two boxes, one green and one yellow. I asked him what they were, and he said, “It’s a titanium box that protects your money. If the bad guys try to break in, it explodes!”
Or he’ll draw characters as part of a sequence, each part with a number. “In step 1, the bad guy tries to rob a bank. In step 2, a net falls down on him . . . .” And so it goes.
